Kamala Harris went to this Mexican restaurant. Where else should she have dined? Vote now

Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz held a rally in Glendale as part of a national tour of campaign stops in several key battleground states.

In keeping with recent Presidential culinary tradition, after the rally, Harris and Walz picked up tamales at Mexican restaurant Cocina Adamex in Phoenix near the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown where she is staying.

According to a White House pool report, they joked about Walz' lack of spice tolerance. "No spice," Hope Walz said about Gov. Walz.

"It's the Scandinavian in me," he said to Rep. Gallego.

"You know what picante is for him? Black pepper," VP Harris said, referring to Gov. Walz.Located off Seventh Avenue and Taylor Street, the restaurant is owned by Adriana Zapata and Alberto Sanchez. It gained social media fame last year for their massive, 10-inch diameter concha that serves 10 and can be ordered with a giant 10-cup mug of coffee.

They named the restaurant Adamex as a tribute to Zapata's my mother-in-law Yolanda Adame, she told The Republic, "and to indicate that we are originally from Mexico."

Harris has visited Arizona multiple times in her tenure as vice president. She previously dined at the now-closed Barrio Cafe while campaigning with President Joe Biden in October 2020.

Of course, Harris and Walz had limited time to spend in the Valley. So they couldn't eat at all of metro Phoenix's best restaurants, as much as they may have wanted to.
