Who are Kamala Harris's children, Cole and Ella?
Now that she has enough promised delegates to secure the top spot on the Democratic ticket this fall, Vice President Kamala Harris is front-and-center to the spotlight.
So, too, is her family — including her two stepchildren, who drew considerable attention during the 2020 election cycle for their public appearances and unique personalities.
But, where are they now?
Does Kamala Harris have children?
Harris met her husband, a former entertainment lawyer in 2013. A year later, she and Douglas Emhoff were married. It was her first marriage; his second.
Harris became stepmom to Emhoff's two children, Cole and Ella, from his first marriage to Kerstin Emhoff.
Cole Emhoff, 30, works in entertainment like his mother; Ella Emhoff, 25, is a model and fashion designer.
In a 2019 article in Elle Harris described meeting the "brilliant, talented, funny" kids that grew up to be "remarkable" adults and how welcoming they were to her, she even credits them with reeling her in to marry their dad.
In her Elle piece, Harris said Cole was named after American jazz musician John Coltrane while Ella was named after American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald.
Cole and Ella affectionately nicknamed Harris Momala.
Ella was still in high school when Harris joined the family and she wrote about sitting on the sidelines and cheering for Ella at her swim meets and basketball games. Cole had already gone off to college.
Elle graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York City in May of 2021 and Cole got married to Greenley Littlejohn in October 2023. Harris officiated their wedding.
