Kane Brown To Receive Very Special Honor At People's Choice Country Awards
Brown is being recognized for both his music and his "dedication to empowering and supporting younger generations."
The people have chosen: Kane Brown will receive the Country Champion Award at the People's Choice Country Awards.
The superstar will be recognized for his groundbreaking music—he's had 11 No. 1 hits on country radio—but also for his service to young people.
“Since the beginning of his career, Kane Brown has ensured that his legacy will extend beyond music,” says Executive Vice President Jen Neal of NBCUniversal Entertainment. “His dedication to empowering and supporting younger generations is nothing short of inspiring, and we’re thrilled to honor him with the Country Champion Award.”
According to a press release, Brown has been called “the future of country music" by Billboard. His self-titled debut album in 2016 was the first to lead all five of Billboard's main country charts at once.
His tunes, "Heaven" and "What Ifs" are two of the most-streamed country songs of all time. His 2018 album, Experiment, topped Billboard's all-genre chart. He won ACM Video of the Year for "Mixtape Vol. 1" in 2021.
In 2022, Brown was honored with the Boys & Girls Club’s Champion of Youth Award in recognition of his work serving young people.
The People's Choice Country Awards will air on September 26 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Shania Twain is hosting. Tickets for the evening including performances by country music stars are on sale now through the Grand Ole Opry.
