Kate Middleton’s Christmas Day Look Honored Princess Diana With This Subtle Accessory
Every member of the British royal family made quite the sartorial statement in their Christmas Day best. Distinguished members of the House of Windsor, along with a few surprising inclusions, attended church services in Sandringham just a few days ago to commemorate the holiday. While many remarked on Kate Middleton’s stunning royal blue ensemble, there was one detail some may have overlooked — an accessory that honored the Princess of Wales’ late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Princess Kate’s monochromatic ensemble featured a gorgeous Alexander McQueen coat and a Juliette millinery hat, along with an Emmy London clutch and matching Gianvito Rossi heeled boots, as identified by Elle. But the most significant part of her look were the sapphire and diamond earrings previously worn by Princess Diana. The accessories completed the look and were a profound nod to the late royal.

Not only does the Princess of Wales regularly pay tribute to Diana by wearing her jewelry, she’s also recreated a number of Diana’s most iconic looks. But on an occasion like Christmas, a holiday about family and loved ones, we’re not at all surprised Kate chose to wear these earrings and keep her late mother-in-law close.
