Kate Middleton is ‘not ready to return to work’ but is ‘keeping an eye’ on charity
Kate Middleton is “not ready to return to work” despite making a brief return to social media this week to share a project she’s been working on.
Still, the Princess of Wales, 42, is “keeping an eye” on the impact her work has on young farmers who face psychological struggles, according to royal correspondent Cameron Walker.
The royal, who has remained largely out of the public eye following her cancer diagnosis, has reportedly been briefed on the report by the charity she’s been working with.
“This should not be seen as a return to work by the Princess of Wales, but I have been told she’s read the report and has been briefed on it,” Walker told GB News.
“But this will stem from her work from when she started being a working member of the Royal Family, where she was working closely with people suffering from addiction and mental health problems.”
“What she found is all of these issues tend to stem from a poor start in life. So the first five years of a child’s life,” he added.
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, the Waleses on Tuesday shared a video highlighting the work Middleton has been carrying out behind closed doors.
While the mom of three doesn’t appear in the video, she and William, 41, contributed to its production.
It is believed that work on the farming project began before Princess Catherine’s diagnosis. She has reportedly been the “driving force” behind the charity.
“The princess cannot lobby the government. She can’t be political. So I think she’s trying to encourage the private sector to do as much as they can in sport and create societal change,” Walker added.
Tuesday’s update came two months after Middleton shared a pre-recorded video on March 22 in which she revealed her health woes to the world.
The mom of three said doctors discovered her cancer during a planned abdominal surgery in January, and noted that she is now in the early stages of “a course of preventative chemotherapy.”
Middleton is expected to return to royal duties once she’s given the “green light” from doctors.
