Kate Middleton and Prince William Are 'Going Through Hell' After Cancer News, Says Royal Confidante

A clothing designer who helped style many of the looks that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children have worn over the years shared some insight into what the royals are going through in the wake of Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
Amaia Arrieta, who makes clothing for children, recently spotted Princess Charlotte wearing one of her designs in a photo that Kate shared for Mother’s Day, which the United Kingdom recognized on March 10. Less than two weeks later, the Princess of Wales went public with her cancer diagnosis in a March 22 video message.
During a recent interview with The Telegraph, Arrieta said that helping design the outfits the royal couple’s children wear “gives me so much pride.” She then alluded to Kate’s health struggles, telling the paper, “I’m heartbroken at the moment, I think they are going through hell, I hope they will be back.”

While Kensington Palace hasn’t revealed the type of cancer Kate is battling, the princess said her doctors identified her condition while conducting tests after a planned abdominal surgery in mid-January. She was “in the early stages” of a preventative chemotherapy treatment recommended by her medical team at the time of her video message.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Kate said in her message. She went on to describe her diagnosis as a “huge shock” and said she and the Prince of Wales “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
Though their family of five has remained mostly out of the public eye since Kate’s announcement, Prince William has taken on a few recent royal appearances. He told attendees at one event earlier this week that his wife and children were “doing well” when asked about their wellbeing.
