Kate Middleton, Prince William ‘will not see’ Prince Harry in UK as Princess of Wales is ‘vulnerable’ after cancer diagnosis: report
“Vulnerable” Kate Middleton and Prince William will not see Prince Harry during his brief visit to London next week, according to a report.
The Duke of Sussex is gearing up to return to London on May 8 for the first time since his visit to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis in February.
It’ll be Harry’s first trip to his home soil since learning of his sister-in-law’s cancer diagnosis last month.
And while the trip could be the perfect chance for a royal reconciliation, it appears as though the royals aren’t interested in mending bridges.
“Both sides understand each other’s position clearly now,” a friend of the couple told the Daily Beast. “William and Catherine felt completely betrayed by Harry’s memoir [Spare].”
“They don’t speak to Harry and Meghan [Markle], and they are certainly not about to start when Catherine is at her most vulnerable.”
The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
Elsewhere, another insider told the outlet that while William — the heir to the throne — has no interest in meeting up with his brother, he has no issue with their dad, King Charles, reuniting with him.
“[Harry is] just another person who sold his story to the papers,” the source adds. “A ‘get well soon’ message is neither here nor there. But the whole situation doesn’t use up a huge amount of their mental energy anymore.”
“William and Kate have accepted it and moved on. Cancer puts things in perspective. William respects his father’s wish to reconcile with his son, but his focus now is on protecting his family from stressful situations,” the insider added.
However, it was last month reported that Charles is “too busy” to meet with his youngest son.
Harry is reportedly set to check into a hotel room during his trip to the UK next week after the royals failed to offer up any of their many residences.
It won’t be the first time the father of two stays at a hotel during a mad dash to London, which he opted to do during his blink-and-you-miss-it trip in February.
What’s more, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace officials have not confirmed any indication of any royals attending next week’s event.
It’s also believed that the trip will be another solo venture for Harry as his wife and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to stay home.
However, the Sussexes will be jetting off to Nigeria later this month.
