Kate Walsh Has Us Gasping Over Her New Blonde Pixie Cut
Kate Walsh did a thing. The actress—who has been rocking auburn tresses for most of her career—just went blonde. The major hair makeover came in the form of an edgy pixie cut, with Walsh showing off the double transformation via an Instagram video promoting her fragrance line, Boyfriend Perfume.
In the social media clip, Walsh stands behind two photos of herself—both showing her with her signature red ‘do—before she emerges with the new look. She paired the hair statement with an equally bold outfit, rocking a plunging black leather dress and matching gloves by Rick Owens. (A longer version of the frock is currently on sale for $478 at Ssense.) When it came to glam, Walsh took it there, donning heavy black liner and a wine-colored lip. She accessorized with a chunky bracelet and big hoop earrings. “Some things change, some things are forever.” Walsh captioned the Instagram post, prompting excited reactions from her followers and famous friends. “Omgggg,” Lily Collins wrote as a fan gushed, “KATE WALSH EXCUSE ME?????”

Walsh then shared a carousel of additional photos of her makeover styled with a number of different moto-inspired outfits. While the Emily in Paris star’s transformation may come as quite the shock, Walsh has experimented with subtle hair changes over the years. As it turns out, she’s not actually a natural redhead. “My base color is more of a golden brown, and we’ve made a conscious decision to keep the red in that range so that when it fades, it looks more natural,” Walsh told Elle back in 2012 when discussing her go-to hue.
In addition to red and platinum, Walsh had a brief honey-blonde era in the ‘90s, and she rocked golden locks in 2020.
