Kane will reportedly appear in at least one episode of Season 7, which will mark her final appearance as a series regular.
“It was time to look towards new creative endeavors,” Kane said in a statement to our sister site Deadline. “I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best.”
Kane’s character was highlighted in several of last season’s episodes, when Agent Hobbs, with whom Tiffany had worked undercover, was killed in the premiere by a terrorist named Hakim Siran. Tiffany promised Hobbs’ family justice, and was able to deliver it in the finale, when the team caught up to Hakim and Tiff gunned him down in self defense.
Sharing with her wants for the coming season, Kane had told TVLine back in May, “I would love to [Tiffany] her continue to have moments of release and sort of breathe and have some levity — in her personal life, but also in her work life with her colleagues. I’d like to to see Tiffany continue to be, like, a badass agent, but also relax into life in a nice way. That would be really, really lovely.”
Who’s In? Who’s Out? TV’s Major Casting Moves for Fall (and Beyond!)
News of Kane’s departure comes on the heels of FBI adding its first series regular in four seasons. Lisette Olivera, best known for starring on Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History series, is joining the cast this fall as Syd, a Behavioral Analysis Unit agent who gets rotated onto Jubal’s team.
FBI also stars Missy Peregrym as Special Agent Margaret “Maggie” Bell, Zeeko Zaki as Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, Jeremy Sisto as Assistant Special Agent In Charge Jubal Valentine, Alana de la Garza as Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille and John Boyd as Special Agent Stuart Scola.
FBI returns for Season 7 on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c, followed by the Season 4 premiere of FBI: International (9 pm) and the Season 6 premiere of FBI: Most Wanted (10 pm).
