Kathie Lee Gifford reacts to ‘Bachelor’ star Joey Graziadei not knowing who she is
Kathie Lee Gifford doesn’t expect “The Bachelor” star Joey Graziadei to give her any roses.
The 70-year-old TV legend hilariously reacted to the 28-year-old reality star admitting he didn’t know who she was last week during an appearance on “Live With Kelly and Mark” — the program she famously co-hosted with Regis Philbin for 15 years.
“I don’t expect him to know me. I’ve got shoes that are older than this kid is!” Gifford joked Wednesday via X.
Graziadei, a tennis pro from Pennsylvania, was asked by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos about his thoughts on Gifford being the first “Golden Bachelorette.”
“I will be honest: I have no idea who Kathie Lee Gifford is,” Graziadei said to an astonished studio audience. “I’m only 28! I’m sorry!”
Gifford appeared on “Live” from 1985 to 2000. She then joined Hoda Kotb for the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today” show, often engaging in wine-consuming shenanigans, from 2008 to 2019.
In January, Kotb, 59, gave fans an update on her longtime friend’s life after television.
“By the way, Kat’s living her best life,” she said of Gifford. “She’s in Nashville, she’s writing music, she is living her best life. She’s playing with the cutest grandkids, putting out good music, so Kat, love you.”
Earlier this month, Graziadei also made headlines for mixing up convicted felon Gypsy Rose Blanchard and late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
In a now-viral round of a Betches game called “How Online Are You?,” the hopeless romantic was asked to identify Blanchard after seeing a picture of her.
“I do know who this person is!” Graziadei confidently explained. “Is it Ruth? It’s Jinsburg or Ginsburg or something like that. Am I wrong?”
A little embarrassed when producers told him the correct answer, Graziadei replied, “I know that she had something happen where she went to jail because of her mom.”
“The Bachelor” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
