Kathy Griffin is calling out Ivanka Trump for her Kate Spade tweet: 'You're all talk'
Comedian Kathy Griffin is dismissing Ivanka Trump after the first daughter tweeted sympathy for designer Kate Spade, who died by suicide Tuesday.
The fashion guru was discovered hanged in her apartment after penning a suicide note, leaving behind her 13-year-old daughter and husband. Celebrities, from Lena Dunham to Chelsea Clinton and Trump, expressed sympathy on Twitter.
“Kate Spade’s tragic passing is a painful reminder that we never truly know another’s pain or the burden they carry,” wrote Trump. “If you are struggling with depression and contemplating suicide, please, please seek help.”

Griffin, 57, shared Trump’s tweet, writing, “You’re all talk feckless, you’re all talk” and then, “If someone is feckless does that mean they have no feck? So when it comes to Ivanka can I say she’s all talk and no feck?”

The word “feckless” has been trending since Full Frontal host Samantha Bee called Trump a “feckless c*** in late May, after the first daughter Instagrammed a photo of herself hugging her son Teddy, at a time when horror stories were circulating of the administration’s “zero tolerance policy” of separating Mexican children from their parents who enter the U.S.
Bee’s comment provoked an outcry, the call for her show to be canceled, and ultimately, an apology from the host herself. “I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night,” Bee said the following day. “It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.”
Griffin had urged Bee to avoid apologizing, simply tweeting, “Please do not apologize.”

Griffin, who is being awarded Tuesday for her fundraising efforts for HIV/AIDS patients and her work with the LGBTQ community, has a contentious history with the first family. In 2017, a photo of her holding up a fake, decapitated head of the president caused her reputation and career to spiral downward.
