Kathy Griffin wears anti-Trump 'message jacket' — gifted by a fan — at Radio City show
When Melania Trump chose a Zara jacket with the words “I really don’t care, do u?” emblazoned on the back as gear for her trip to a Texas detention center housing immigrant children last week, celeb response was swift and negative — to say the least.
One of the loudest critiques came from Kathy Griffin, who tweeted: “F*** these people and f*** anyone who says we should be polite to them or maintain decorum.”
Griffin’s fans heard this loud and clear, so clear that one fan even went so far as to drop off a special gift — her very own “message” jacket — for her Monday night appearance at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
A fan dropped this off at Radio City tonight and I wore it on stage!!

Griffin, moved by the inscription (“I really do care, do u?”), wore the gift onstage and showed it off proudly on social media.
The comedian’s new coat joins ranks with similar Army-style jackets donned by celebs, bearing messages stating they do not share the FLOTUS’s sentiment. Disney actress Jenna Ortega wore one of these to the Radio Disney Music Awards on June 22 (“I do care and u should too”), as did Mira Sorvino at a #KeepFamiliesTogether protest in Texas over the weekend (“We care”).
Numerous stars have spoken out regarding the jacket incident, as well as overall strategies employed by President Trump that called for some 2,000 immigrant children to be separated from their parents. Judd Apatow, Darryl Hannah, Chelsea Handler, Patricia Arquette, Diane Kruger, Lena Dunham, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sia, Amber Heard, Joshua Jackson, Evan Rachel Wood, and many more posted on social media or attended protests in stark criticism of the events.
