Katie Holmes Hits 2024's Hottest Shoe Trend, Rewears Miu Miu Ballet Slipper
Katie Holmes attended a screening of “Pieces of April” at The Paris Theater yesterday in New York.
For her romp in the city, the “Batman Begins” star popped on a pair of Rachel Comey Cassis mules. Retailing for $495, the silhouette featured high-shine metallic blue leather uppers, a slip-on construction and sharp triangular toes.
A 1.3-inch kitten heel rounded out the set, providing a subtle boost. Sleek and sophisticated, the metallic indigo uppers updated the mule silhouette, illuminating Holme’s every step. The pop of color the thespian’s footwear pick provided was a welcomed one, mirroring the similar color scheme of her ensemble for the day.
Holmes’ footwear picks are often elevated, featuring unique touches that bring classic silhouettes into the 21st century. If metallics aren’t your thing, the Cassis mule also comes in a rusty colorway crafted of textural suede.
On the outfit front, the “Dawson’s Creek” actress donned the Rachel Comey Varda top—a rose-printed turtleneck made of a green textured fabric, equipped with a wavy lettuce trim. Holmes’ top was neatly tucked into black high-waisted jeans in a baggy style. Thin 90s-inspired sunglasses adorned her smiling face.
Holmes is best known for her classic “everywoman” style, often re-wearing beloved pieces year-round. On the footwear front, the “All We Had” director keeps her selections classic with Veja and Adidas sneakers, Gucci loafers, and Bottega Veneta mules. Holmes is particularly fond of Adidas’ Samba style, having been spotted in the on-trend silhouette on numerous occasions.
Beyond her sharp off-duty shoes, Holmes’ ties to the fashion industry have also earned her an Olay brand ambassador title. The thespian has also starred in campaigns for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Miu Miu and Ann Taylor. Adding to her impressive fashion resume, Holmes was also the co-founder of the fashion line Holmes & Yang, launched with her then-stylist Jeanne Yang, from 2011 to 2014.
