Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx 'wrestle in the sand' to debunk breakup rumors
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are the queen and king of having-an-undercover-relationship in Hollywood. But, following reports earlier this summer that they had broken up, they’re making a very public display of their affection.
The new Us Weekly has “4 PAGES OF AMAZING PHOTOS” of the pair, reportedly together since 2013, during an intimate beach jaunt in Malibu, Calif., on July 21. Not only did they share “passionate kisses,” sip champagne, and watch the sunset — as a photographer snapped away — they also “wrestled in the sand,” perhaps after one lost their game of volleyball. They were also “never on their phones” during the outing, focusing just on each other, according to the gushy copy in the mag.

This is notable because they’ve gone to extreme lengths to hide their relationship over the years. The lovebirds have entered and exited restaurants at different times to meet for dinner. They’ve walked in and out of hotels separately when they were staying in them together. They’ve traveled on different planes to the same romantic vacation destination.
The undercover-lover label faded a bit last September when they seemed to stage a romantic, hand-holding beach stroll for the paparazzi. Then — omg — they canoodled at a pre-Grammy party, sitting at the same table. But he made it clear that he still wasn’t down with talking about her, ducking out of a live interview when asked about her.
The status of their relationship came into question in late June, though. After rumors kicked up that they had split over “trust issues,” calling off a secret wedding they had been planning, Holmes had her publicist issue a firm denial, saying rumors of the split were “100 percent untrue.” The Us Weekly article reports that they did split due to trust issues, and “no one knows why she stays with a man who is consistently disrespectful,” but she won’t let go of their atypical arrangement. “When they’re together, it works, and when they’re not, they’re on their own,” said a source.
Along with a public dinner date at TAO in New York since then (at least we think that was his head), these new photos offer solid evidence that they are together and happy, and … that they enjoy wrestling in sand while fully dressed and in front of strangers. Whodathunkit?
