Katrina Kaif Googled Vijay Sethupathi After Being Cast in Merry Christmas
Katrina Kaif is all set to share the screen with Vijay Sethupathi in Merry Christmas. The much-awaited movie is just a few days away from its release date, and the makers are rigorously promoting it. Katrina talked about the film’s fresh casting in one of her latest interviews. She revealed how she googled Vijay Sethupathi after learning he was playing the lead against her.
Sriram Raghavan is directing Merry Christmas, while Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures are bankrolling it. The film is a thriller romance whose trailer has left viewers intrigued. Moreover, the movie has been made simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Sanjay Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Vinay Pathak, and many others are playing supporting roles.
Why did Katrina Kaif google her Merry Christmas co-star Vijay Sethupathi?
During a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Katrina Kaif talked about Vijay Sethupathi’s acting skills. She said, “I had actually first really noticed in the film class of 83… Is it class of 83 or 83?” Vijay then clarified that the film’s name was 96. She then continued, “96, sorry. That’s a few years off but… I had actually loved that film 96.”
While she loved the movie, Katrina googled Sethupathi’s name because she had to refresh her memory. She said, “I just googled him straight away, just to refresh my memory. And the first image that came up on Instagram was this very distinguished salt and pepper kind of silver hair, which, for me, I loved.”
This is the first time Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi share the screen space. Many are finding the pairing unusual, but not Katrina. She said, “To me, it feels like two actors coming together for a very unusual story.” Moreover, she revealed how her friends and family were thrilled to hear about the casting.
Merry Christmas will be released on January 12, 2024.
