Katt Williams Goes In On Cedric The Entertainer Over Alleged Stolen Joke

Katt Williams has reiterated allegations against Cedric The Entertainer of stealing a joke later used in 2000 comedy special, The Original Kings of Comedy.

Williams’ rant during his sit-down with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast began as a response to Cedric’s own January 2023 appearance on the show, where he denied Williams’ allegations of theft.

“That was ridiculous. I seen Katt 30 times and he didn’t say nothing, all that was some internet sh*t…I responded to him, he didn’t respond to me, so I left it at that.”

Williams took offense to The Neighborhood star’s denial, telling Sharpe, “He thought that I was just a no-name comedian, and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that i had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial.”

He went on, “This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this joke…Cedric comes to The Comedy Store, he watches me in the audience, he comes backstage, he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”

Williams then claims Cedric and fellow “King” Steve Harvey had previously apologized to him, so he gave them a “pass” for a decade. Ced’s denial during his Club Shay Shay visit, however, was enough to make Williams want to gut-punch the stand-up.

“Why would you downplay me like that? Why would I give you a pass If you were just gon’ lie?”

The Pimp Chronicles comic went on to take shots at Cedric’s physique, saying he “looked like a walrus” while on Sharpe’s podcast. He added that he doesn’t believe the former Emmys host can write jokes.

“He did four comedy specials. They’re so bad, Shannon, they’re not on Netflix or TUBI.”
