Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' co-star accuses her of sexual misconduct
Katy Perry is being accused of sexual misconduct by model and actor Josh Kloss, who was her love interest in her 2010 “Teenage Dream” music video.
Kloss got candid about the alleged abuse in an Instagram post, claiming the pop star pulled down his pants and underwear and exposed his genitalia in front of a group of people at a birthday party at a rollerskating rink. He said the incident occurred after they worked together — and after her 2011 split from husband Russell Brand — and it left Kloss feeling “pathetic and embarrassed.”
Kloss said that he was sharing his story because “our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting.”
In his post, he also also talked about their working experience while making the “Teenage Dream” video. Kloss — who said he was paid $650 for the job — recalled that after they filmed a kissing scene, Perry told “the entire set” that kissing Kloss was “gross.”
Yet, he also claimed, that after their first day on the set, she invited him to a strip club that night. He declined.
Kloss said that while Perry’s image is of a leader with her “great empowering anthems,” his experience was different. In fact, he called it “one of the most confusing, assaulting, and belittling jobs I’ve ever done.”
While Perry hasn’t directly commented, her fans have been defending her — vigorously. They’ve been attacking Kloss personally and trashing him for trying to “defame Katy.” A sample response: “A real man doesn’t do what you are doing.”
That’s led to subsequent posts from Kloss, including this one about a positive experience working with Kim Kardashian — and her dealmaker momager, Kris Jenner — in a 2011 Sketchers commercial.
He also claimed that Perry’s team “lorded over” him when he did press for “Teenage Dream” and told him what to say in his responses. In a “couple interviews they edited and answered for me,” he wrote, sharing what he said was an example of that.
Kloss insisted his intentions were good, writing, “Folks I am putting us both out on display to increase and enlighten everyone. I don’t want money for this, Many of you project your own ambitions. I don’t want fame from this, that is why I stomached it and kept working, and kept supporting the ‘teenage dream’ image.
He also shared a notice he received from Instagram after users reported his post. He asked the photo sharing site, which is owned by Facebook, not to delete his account. “Deleting me won’t help anyone,” he wrote.
According to IMDB, Kloss is also an actor. He has a role in the upcoming thriller The Hunter. Prior to working with Perry, he had a recurring role in TV’s The O.C.
