Kauveh Khozein Carrera Joins 7th Sun Productions

7th Sun Productions, the company founded by Yara and Keri Shahidi, have tapped Kauveh Khozein Carrera to lead development.

Khozein Carrera previously worked for Angelina Jolie and Netflix’s Original Series team, which was responsible for Firefly Lane and My Life with the Walter Boys. He also worked for media financier Picturestart and Scott Free Television.

7th Sun Productions continues to operate under an overall deal at ABC Signature in partnership with Onyx Collective, where they have active development at play. Its recently announced projects include an upcoming documentary film celebrating the impact of renowned painter Faith Ringgold, as well as their first foray into the audio space with the recently announced podcast, The Optimist Project, created and co-produced by the Shahidis and hosted by Yara in collaboration with Sirius XM’s Stitcher Studios.

Yara Shahidi starred in and executive produced Grown-ish while completing her undergraduate degree at Harvard University. Her co-principal and fellow executive producer, Keri Shahidi, holds a master’s in international business and has played a crucial role in directing the company toward projects that foster connections across global communities.

Keri Shahidi has been instrumental in co-creating projects and developing creative strategies that include Yara Shahidi’s Day off (Meta) as well as branded content for Cartier’s women’s perspectives podcast, Samsung, and Dell, alongside multi-media brand partners.
