Kayla Braxton has shot down rumors about her WWE exit and potential future in wrestling.

The backstage interviewer announced her shocking departure on Sunday, ending nearly eight years with the WWE. She has received new opportunities on the West Coast, and looks to be moving away from wrestling.

Braxton has worked on numerous shows in the WWE since 2016, as an interviewer for NXT and main roster shows and PPV’s. She also hosted The Bump and Talking Smack.

F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported that she was behind Cathy Kelley and Jackie Redmond in the WWE “pecking order,” insinuating that she was expendable. He also said that she had talks with AEW, which emboldened speculation about her jumping ship to Tony Khan’s promotion in the near future.

“It might be AEW, it might not. There definitely was talk between her and AEW. She was looking to other things as well. It was one of those things, I was told she could see the writing on the wall. They pretty much decided that Cathy Kelley and Jackie Redmond were gonna be the top two ones. I think by that she kind of could see maybe it’s time to go somewhere else.”

However, Kayla Braxton has completely shot those rumors down. She took to Twitter to deny the rumors of her moving to another pro wrestling promotion. Kayla Braxton will end her WWE tenure at Madison Square Garden for Smackdown next week, but says that she wouldn’t be leaving the WWE if she wanted to remain working in wrestling.

“The support from u guys has been overwhelming. I am so thankful for u.But I did wanna make 1 thing clear as I enter my final week in WWE: if I wanted to keep working in wrestling, I wouldn’t be walking away from the largest wrestling company in the world. Nice try, rumor weeds!”
