Black Doves Trailer: Keira Knightley’s Outed Spy Seeks Revenge in Netflix’s Upcoming Thriller

This year, you won’t have to wait until Christmas to be captivated by Love, Actually’s Keira Knightley.

Netflix on Thursday released a final trailer for Black Doves, its upcoming Knightley-led thriller that’s set for release Thursday, Dec. 5. (Watch it above.)

The series, which has already been renewed for Season 2, follows Helen Webb (played by Knightley), “a quick-witted, down-to-earth, dedicated wife and mother — and professional spy,” according to the official logline. “For 10 years, she’s been passing on her politician husband’s secrets to the shadowy organization she works for: the Black Doves.”

After her secret lover Jason (Warrior’s Andrew Koji) gets assassinated, Helen’s “spymaster, the enigmatic Reed (Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire), calls in Helen’s old friend Sam (Fargo’s Ben Whishaw) to keep her safe,” the logline continues. “Together, Helen and Sam set off on a mission to investigate who killed Jason and why, leading them to uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy linking the murky London underworld to a looming geopolitical crisis.”

In the latest trailer, Helen makes clear her intentions to find the person responsible for Jason’s death… but her desire to track down his killer only makes Helen look more suspicious to her colleagues.

The Black Doves cast also includes Andrew Buchan (Carnival Row), Adeel Akhtar (Sweet Tooth), Tracey Ullman (The Tracey Ullman Show), Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), Luther Ford (The Crown), Kathryn Hunter (Andor), Sam Troughton (A Very Royal Scandal), Ella Lily Hyland (Fifteen Love), Adam Silver (The Diplomat), Ken Nwosu (Killing Eve), Gabrielle Creevy (Three Women), Omari Douglas (It’s A Sin) and Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You).
