Kelly Clarkson Covers Cardi B, Post Malone & Lauryn Hill in Epic Mashup
Kelly Clarkson used her powerful vocals to pay homage to an unlikely trio of artists — Cardi B, Post Malone and Lauryn Hill — and the results were pure magic.
The singer and “Voice” coach surprised fans by covering all three musicians on Thursday night during her “Meaning of Life” Tour stop in Long Island, New York. Revealing she had just rehearsed the mashup hours before, Clarkson belted out her own version of Cardi’s “Be Careful” and Malone’s “Better Now” (starts around 7:30).
She ended the epic cover with Hill’s “Ex-Factor” from 1998, which Cardi sampled too.
“We literally just put that together this afternoon,” Clarkson told the crowd at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum.
“I just love all those artists, I’m such a fan!” she continued. “I probably should have broken them up and covered them all individually but I love when like something is so good, it reminds you of something else that is so good and you just marry them.”
Clarkson’s mashup was mind-blowing and based on the applause by the audience, they thought so too!
