Kelly Clarkson Reveals the Honest Reason Why She's 'Loving Not Having a Man in Her Life'
Kelly Clarkson looks like she is enjoying every moment of her post-divorce life from ex Brandon Blackstock. Her joy radiates with every note she sings and there is an air of lightness surrounding her as she interviews guests on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Could it have something to do with her dating life?
Well, Today show anchor Hota Kotb appeared on Clarkson’s show on Tuesday and turned the tables on her — she asked the question fans to have been dying to hear the answer to. “Do you ever think about going out on a date?” queried Kotb. That’s when the American Idol winner hit her audience with the most honest answer anyone could ever come up with. “Not at all,” she said confidently. “Not even a little bit.”

Any guy would be lucky to have the opportunity to date Clarkson, but her lengthy divorce from Blackstock took its toll. That’s why we love a woman who feels great about her choices, especially in a fresh chapter of her life. “I am really loving not having a man in my life,” she emphasized. “It’s just too hard, it’s too much.” The audience laughed at her response, but Kotb wanted to know why it was just “too much” right now.
“There’s all the jobs, plus the kids, plus being present for the kids while you’re there.” Clarkson has prioritized herself and her kids, River, 9, and Remington, 7, in the wake of her split from Blackstock. She uprooted them to make an East Coast move and plant new roots in New York City last fall. Her “fresh start” was the catalyst for a whole new world of possibilities for her — and let’s just say, she’s thriving.
“What’s cool for me with Season 5 is I am in such a great place, not only with my kids but with me personally and with the show,” Clarkson told USA Today last fall. “I feel like a weight has lifted. That move was very needed. I think the thing I’m most excited about with Season 5, on a selfish level, is just showing up to work smiling and actually meaning it. That’s a beautiful gift that you don’t realize until you’re out of it.”
