Kelly Clarkson Reveals She Ripped Her Pants Filming 'Since U Been Gone' Music Video: 'A Lot of Moon'
"I went down and just, 'Whoop!' And I was commando,” the singer recalled of the 2010 wardrobe mishap
Kelly Clarkson once ripped her pants while filming her 2010 music video, “Since U Been Gone."
The singer, 41, revealed the wardrobe mishap happened while on set in recorded outtakes from Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
While the show was off-air but the cameras were still rolling, guest Kyle Richards — who was dressed as a black cat for the Halloween episode — started the conversation off by mentioning “how tight my bodysuit is.”
“I basically feel like I have one big Spanx on from the ankle to the neck,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said while seated on the sound stage. “And I haven’t sat in them until I got here. So if you hear a loud noise…”

“Like it ripped,” added Clarkson as she motioned the act. Explaining how she would react if that were to happen, Richards continued, “I will cover myself with a pillow.”
“That happened to me on a music video,” Clarkson revealed. “The director was like, ‘Can you go down?’ I was in really tight leather pants in the ‘Since U Been Gone’ video and he was like, ‘Go down and pop back up’ and I was like, ‘OK, cool.' ”
“And I went down and just, ‘Whoop!'” she imitated the sound of her bottoms splitting. “And I was commando,” she added, which prompted the audience to burst into laughter.
“Do we have this on tape?” Richards, 54, joked. Clarkson continued, “The drummer, I was like, ‘Oh s--- that’s a lot of moon, man. I’m sorry.”

Ahead of the Oct. 31 episode, PEOPLE got an exclusive sneak peek at the talk show host’s costume as a blood-sucking vampire.
For the show, Clarkson wore a form-fitting long-sleeve black dress with a matching choker. She also painted her face to look ghastly pale with painted blood dripping down from her smokey eyes.
Fitting for her character, Clarkson sang a cover of Olivia Rodrigo's hit song “Vampire.” "I love Halloween so much," Clarkson said after her performance.
She went on to explain her band’s coordinated costumes. "We are all different versions of vampires. I am Rock and Roll Vampire. That's what I'm claiming, 'cause we just went with it!"
"We should all go out after this, just to freak people out," she joked.
