Kelly Clarkson’s Studio Audience Cracks Up Over Travel Safety Warning: ‘Have You Ever Heard of Dateline?'
Henry Golding doesn't always go hiking at Yosemite National Park. But when he does, he slides into strangers' DMs and heads off into the woods with them—and Kelly Clarkson isn't necessarily a fan.
Recently, Clarkson's studio audience cracked up over a travel safety warning the talk show host gave the Crazy Rich Asians star when she learned Golding went hiking with someone he had just met.
On Aug. 5, Golding, 37, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he and Clarkson chatted about a stunning photo of him standing near the edge of a cliff. A clip shared via Instagram showed Golding explaining the snap was taken in Yosemite during a hiking excursion with a man named Kraig Adams.
"It was like a two-day hike, but people do it in a day. My knees turned to jelly like halfway through this thing," Golding told Clarkson. "And I was like, 'I cannot quit on this guy.' Because I hit him up on Instagram. I was like, 'You have to take me hiking whenever you get the chance.' And finally a year later..."
That's when Clarkson, 42, interjected, "Wait, you didn't know this dude?"

"No, I didn't know him, but I've been following him," Golding replied.
"Have you ever heard of Dateline?" the incredulous host quipped, to which the audience burst into laughter.
"I'm kind of strange like that," the Snake Eyes actor admitted after laughing.
"I love meeting people who are really passionate about what they do," Golding added. "And if it's in the interests that I love, I'll hit them up and be like, 'Oh my God, feed me all the information that you have.' I like kind of collecting that."
Safety concerns aside, Golding's method does connect him with knowledgable folks and take him on adventures—with breathtaking photos, to boot.
