Osbourne said that Wilson was “doing so much better” in an video message to fans shared on her Instagram story Aug. 24.
“I just want to take a second to say thank you to everyone who’s been sending well wishes and prayers to Sid,” Osbourne said in the clip. “He’s doing so much better. In fact, we are on the way to go pick him up from the hospital right now.”
Osbourne said that she would share more updates at a later date, before adding, “He’s still in a lot of pain, but he’s doing so, so, so much better.”
In another video on her Instagram story, she shared a clip from home helping to clean up some of the dirt off of his face with a wet washcloth, calling it “the worst part about having a burn.”
Following the incident, Wilson used social media to give fans periodic updates about his recovery process, going live on Instagram several times.
The Slipknot member shared some initial details about his accident during an Aug. 23 Instagram live, which was taken from the hospital as he was being helped by medical professionals.
“Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face,” he said to viewers. “I’m gonna be okay, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms. You can see the phone shaking because I’m holding it and I am shaking.”
He added, “Doing some X-rays on my chest right now to make sure I didn’t inhale any flames.”
Later in the video, Wilson detailed some of the results of the burn, including singed eyebrows, a blistered mouth, and burns across both of his arms.
In another Instagram live from Aug. 23, Wilson said that he was being transported to a different facility that could better address his burn wounds.
At the beginning of the video, Wilson assured fans that he was doing well, saying that he was “hanging in there” and was “in good hands” as he recovers. He also noted that he'd soon be sporting a new look because of the accident.
"They're going to shave my head," he revealed. "So say bye-bye to the long hair."
The musician shared more details about the accident that caused his burns, explaining that his injuries were from a bonfire while he was working on the farm.
“A bonfire was burnt from last night already, but there was some leftovers and I got a little whoosh fire,” he said. “I’m okay everybody. I’m going to be okay.”
While Wilson said the “pain is minor now,” he noted that it was “quite a bit earlier.”
He also issued a warning to viewers watching about engaging with fires, explaining, “I will say, I do know better, so everyone out there, be really safe when you're messing with fire.”
“Something I've dealt with tons of times and of course the one time I second guess and go ‘Oh, I'll be alright,’” he added.
