Kelly Ripa Shows Off Her Bruce Springsteen Impression
On Live With Kelly, guest Kristin Chenoweth, guest host Jussie Smollett, and host Kelly Ripa played a special game of “The Impression Session,” and this time they got to sing their impressions while the others guessed who they were.
Each player had to pull a singer’s name out of a pile and sing a few lines of a public domain song while the other two guessed who it was. Chenoweth came out of the gate strong with her version of Barbra Streisand singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Smollett followed it up with “Rock-a-bye Baby” as sung by James Brown.
The real showstopping number, however, came from Ripa, the one nonsinger of the group, when she imitated the gravelly voiced Bruce Springsteen singing “Happy Birthday.”
