Kelsea Ballerini Requests 'Prayers' in 'Complex and Emotional' Health Update for Pup

Kelsea Ballerini is down in the dumps after revealing that her pup is dealing with some health issues.

The pop-country singer took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Aug. 28, with a lengthy note explaining the details of her dog Dibby's cancer diagnosis.

"My friends," she addressed the note. "I feel pretty disingenuous promoting this album and tracklist reveal (which I am so, so proud of) without updating you on my sweet dibs health."

Ballerini continued, sharing that in the last few days, "we have discovered that dibby has inoperable cancer in his heart," and though "he's not in pain and luckily it hasn't spread any further," they've made the decision to put him on "big meds" in an attempt to give him as many "comfortable and happy days (weeks, months)" as possible, leading to a  peaceful end, whenever that time may come.

The "Cowboys Cry Too" songstress made sure to clarify, however, that she's not going through the difficult time alone, as her mom is there for support, as well as her boyfriend, Chase Stokes.

"The doctors have been amazing, my mom is here (he stans grandma), and chase is the greatest dog dad in the world. he is getting extra cuddles and kibbles from his little family," she assured her fans.

Continuing to provide a health update on Dibby's condition, the 30-year-old added: "It's a complex and emotional time. he's been my baby and my steady for the last 9 years and very much alongside this whole journey with us all. i know so many of you care about him and are sending him prayers and love, and from my whole heart... thank you. he's wagging his tail right now no doubt saying thank you too."

Ballerini followed the note with a sweet picture of the cream-colored pooch, who looked back over his shoulder directly at the camera.
