Kesha on the 2018 Grammys: 'The scariest day of my life'
Kesha sat down with Anthony Mason of CBS Sunday Morning and discussed performing her song “Praying” at the 2018 Grammys. The song is an anthem dedicated to the survivors of sexual assault — something Kesha is unfortunately familiar with.
Kesha is in a protracted dispute with her producer, Dr. Luke. Claiming he sexually abused her for years, she sought to be released from her record deal. Dr. Luke then sued Kesha for defamation. Because the legal battle is ongoing, she couldn’t discuss Dr. Luke.
She did talk about her performance at the Grammys, though, calling it “the scariest day of my life.” Kesha was joined onstage by a star-studded chorus of women who provided vocal as well emotional backup.
“I loved that moment,” Kesha said. “And Cyndi Lauper’s like, ‘You did great, honey.’ And I was, like, ‘Oh my God I don’t even care. I just lived.'”
CBS Sunday Morning airs Sundays at 6:30 a.m. on CBS.
