Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick made a rare red carpet appearance with both of their adult children.

On June 24, actors Bacon and Sedgwick and their two children, son Travis, 35, and daughter Sosie, 32, attended the premiere of the film, “MaXXXine” at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The film, in which Bacon plays a private detective, hits theaters on July 5.

“MaXXXine premiere was a family affair,” the “Footloose” star captioned a few Instagram photos taken at the event.

Bacon and Sedgwick’s marriage is one of the longest in Hollywood — the couple met in 1987 on the set of the film “Lemon Sky” and celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in September 2023.

Although the Bacon children are grown and flown, the family is close.

“I remember looking with such dread at being an empty nester,” Sedgwick told AARP in 2021. “Really, the idea of it was so much worse than the actual experience. But, if you do your job well as a mother, you get fired. That’s essentially what happens. You miss them terribly. What you thought about first thing in morning and the last thing before you went to bed has flown and is totally fine without you, and it’s just like, ‘Well, maybe I’m not so fine without you.'”

Sedgwick added, “I’m one of those lucky people whose kids actually want to hang out with me. I don’t know how that happened, but I’m in. Available anytime!”

Travis Bacon

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s first child Travis was born on June 23, 1989. According to IMDB, Travis works as a “music artist and composer” with his resume including the 2005 film “Loverboy,” which co-starred his parents and sister.

As People reported, Bacon and Sedgwick hadn’t planned on naming their son Travis.

“When my son was going to be born, I had seen this movie called ‘The Accidental Tourist’ and read the book, and there was this character in it named Macon,” Bacon told the outlet. “I said to Kyra, ‘That’s such a great name, Macon. How about Macon for our son’s name?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, I like that name.’

Bacon told People that Sedgwick then squashed the plan, saying, “Wait a second. Macon Bacon? Are you out of your mind?”

In 2023, Bacon recalled a newbie parenting mistake during “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” explaining, “We knew nothing about raising a kid. I mean, we didn’t know what we were doing.”

Bacon explained that he once accidentally locked Travis, then a newborn, inside a parked rental car at a hotel. “I don’t know, I was scattered. I wasn’t really thinking,” said Bacon.

Bacon said he pulled up to the hotel’s valet service, got out and slammed the car door while the engine was running, forgetting the keys — and Travis — inside.

“And my little guy was, I think, four days old at the time,” he said. “So, to say I lost my s--- would be the understatement.”

Bacon said a valet employee smashed the window and reached inside to open the car from the inside.

“This amazing, heroic dude, it took him literally three seconds,” he said. “He wrapped a towel around his fist. Bam! Right through that window.” Bacon added, “I probably wasn’t the first jack--- that ever did that, I’m thinking.”

Travis grew up to love music, just like his dad.

“My insanely talented kid rocked the house yesterday and I was lucky enough to be there!!” Sedgwick wrote on a 2021 Instagram photo taken at a concert played by Travis and his band Contracult Collective.

Sosie Bacon

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s second child Sosie was born on March 15, 1992. Sosie starred in the film “Smile” and the television series “13 Reasons Why.”

In 2022, Sosie told TODAY that she moved in with her parents in New York while filming “Smile.” She was so busy working, she said, that they were like ships passing each other in the night.

“They wanted to hang out, I mean they were super sweet, they made me bagels at 2:00 in the morning when I came home,” she said. “I just felt so bad, I gave them my dog basically. I was like, ‘Sorry ...’”

Sosie added that appreciates her parents.

“You are forced to hang out with your parents when you are younger and now we’re all grownups so we’re choosing it and so I think it’s fun,” she said.
