Actor Kevin Bacon is sending his condolences to the family of a slain Michigan man who shared the same name.

The "Footloose" star, 61, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram Monday about Kevin Bacon, a 25-year-old man who was found dead on Saturday after he went missing on Christmas Eve.

"For obvious reasons, I'm thinking this morning about the friends and family of this young person Kevin Bacon," the actor wrote in an Instagram post on his personal page. "His life was taken from him much too soon. His love was hair dressing. I bet he would have done a great job on this mess on my head. RIP KB."

The victim's father, Karl Bacon, told local news MLive that he used to get teased over giving his son the familiar moniker.

"I wanted the same initials, but I didn’t want Karl Jr. so that made sense," Karl said. "The other Kevin Bacon wasn’t quite as famous as he is now."

But, it was the same name that caught the "Taking Chance" star's attention and inspired him publicly pay tribute to the victim. Bacon was not the only celebrity to honor the young man's memory.

YouTube star and makeup artist Jeffree Star donated $20,000 toward Bacon's funeral services on a GoFundMe page set up for the Michigan man.

The Michigan man went missing on Christmas Eve after he went to meet a man he met on the dating app Grindr, according to MLive.

Bacon's body was found Saturday at a home in Bennington Township. The homeowner is a 50-year-old man who is in custody at Shiawassee County Jail, said Lt. David Kaiser of Michigan State Police.
