As Kevin Costner celebrated his new film Horizon: An American Saga at the Cannes Film Festival, he had full support from his 15-year-old son Hayes, with the duo posing in complementary outfits at the high-profile event.
The father-son pair showed off their family resemblance at the photocall for the new film, with Costner wearing a suave all-white suit with tan shoes and Hayes rocking a similar white suit with a blue shirt underneath and sneakers. Hayes, whom Costner shares with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, stood a little taller than his father, with his wavy brown hair casually styled.
The new movie Horizon: An American Saga has been a passion project for Costner for many years, and the actor recently revealed that he named his son Hayes after his character in the film.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Costner said, "My character's name is Hayes Ellison. And I named Hayes that character. So I was watching him grow up and I was thinking, 'Man, I better get with it and make this movie.'"
To make the movie even more special, it marks Hayes' acting debut, with Costner saying of the collaboration, "I captured him and I brought him on, and he's very good in this small part that he's done. If you see it, I think he has an impact on the movie."
"This was something I thought he could handle," said Costner about what led to casting Hayes in the movie. "I wanted him close and so I did it. So we're locked together in a film forever."
In addition to Hayes, Costner shares a son named Cayden and a daughter named Grace with his ex-wife. He also has three older children with his ex-wife, Cindy Silva, and a son with his former partner, Bridget Rooney.
Costner's new movie, Horizon: An American Saga, will come out in two parts, with the first premiering on June 28 and the second on Aug. 16.
