Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 4 ‘Christmas’ Sneaker Will Come Back for the First Time Ever in December
More from Footwear News
Kevin Durant‘s non-traditional Christmas sneaker from 2011 will get its first-ever retro in December.
The Nike KD 4 “Christmas” sees the return of the cookie cutter-inspired worn by Durant for his 2011 Christmas Day game with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rather than featuring a more obvious red and green color scheme or iconography such as reindeers, the holiday-themed KD 4 is given a metallic copper look invoking the cookie cutters that can last for generations.
True to its original form, the KD 4’s upper is once again dominated by the metallic sheen. Black branding, laces and the sock liner match the sole unit, which features faint speckling on the outsole. Red insoles then feature custom graphics with cookies forming the KD logo and a lightning bolt.
Nike just began to reissue sneakers from the early part of Durant’s career in 2023, with the KD 3 and KD 4 models serving as focal points. Within the last year, the KD 4’s beloved “Nerf,” “Weatherman” and “Galaxy” colorways have all returned, and the KD 4 “Aunt Pearl,” the first of his pink series paying homage to his late family member, is also slated for a comeback during the 2024 holiday season.
Last December, Nike brought back the bright yellow KD 3 “Christmas” worn by Durant in 2010.
Devin Booker also shared a player-exclusive colorway of his Nike Book 1 signature sneaker taking after the KD 4 “Christmas” earlier in the summer.
The Nike KD 4 “Christmas” will release in December through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $130, and this post will be updated when a more precise release date is confirmed.
