Kevin Hart Claps Back At Katt Williams: “Get That Anger Up Out You”
Kevin Hart has responded to Katt Williams deeming him an “industry plant” and equating his success to factors beyond himself.
On Thursday (Jan. 4), the Philadelphia native took to social media to address Williams, who verbally attacked him and other comedic actors during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this week.
“Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad,” Hart wrote on X before using the exchange as an opportunity to plug his upcoming Netflix film Lift. “In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER to my next film LIFT which will be dropping on @netflix in 8 days.”

Hart then mentioned Williams by name, suggesting that the Ohio native has a love-hate relationship with him. “There is a moment in the [Lift] trailer where @gugumbatharaw says, ‘They Really Love You’… I now know she’s talking about ‘Katt,” he joked. “Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!”
In 2018, Hart came to the defense of his Night School costar Tiffany Haddish after Williams criticized her talent as a comedian. The 44-year-old appeared alongside Haddish for an interview on The Breakfast Club, during which he attributed Williams’ perceived bitterness to his failure to capitalize on his own star turn.
“You had the shot! You were set up to be the star,” Hart said of the Friday After Next standout. “You didn’t show up to work! You f**ked off promo shoots! You f**ked off promo trips. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studio stopped f**king with you.”
He continued, “I have time to not be humble today. I have time to fact-check everything he said. Because the world of Katt Williams is a fictional world.”
