Kevin Hart goes off on Katt Williams for badmouthing Tiffany Haddish: 'You f***ed you. Nobody else did.'
Kevin Hart has his Night School co-star Tiffany Haddish‘s back.
The funnyman got serious during the pair’s joint interview Friday on The Breakfast Club, saying he doesn’t understand why when people of color are given opportunities in Hollywood — after fighting to get there — other people of color then tear them down publicly. Hart didn’t hide the fact that he was referring to Katt Williams, the comedian who recently dissed Haddish’s talent (among other things), but then apologized to her at the Emmys. Hart, who has long championed Haddish, went on to call Williams out for his off-screen antics and unprofessionalism.
“My frustration with Katt Williams is, you keep pointing at Hollywood. ‘Hollywood did this. The white man,'” Hart said. “When do you take responsibility for your actions? You had the shot. You were the guy. You were set up to be the star. You didn’t show up to work. You f***ed off promo shoots! You f***ed off your promo trips. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studio stopped f***ing with you.”
Asked why Williams was a risk, Hart shot back, “He chose drugs.” (Williams, who has been in and out of jail, has a very long criminal record including police run-ins involving drugs, guns, and assaults.)
Hart continued, “You f***ed you. Nobody else did,” adding, “Take responsibility for what you chose.”
He also rattled off the names of other big comedians — Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, and George Lopez — and said, “You don’t hear the guys that got on top by doing what they love complain about the people under them. The reason is they are happy with themselves.”
Haddish, who had a hard time getting a word in at first (and that’s saying something), confirmed that Williams did apologize to her at the Emmys, where they were both winners. She wouldn’t go into further detail about what he said, offering only “he explained himself.”

Then Hart spent more time calling out other inaccuracies in Williams’s interview — about Haddish and his apparently bolstered claims about the money he makes touring. “I have time to not be humble today,” quipped Hart, who has a string of big-budget films and other projects in the works. “I have time to fact-check everything he said. Because the world of Katt Williams is a fictional world.”
