Kevin Hart's vegan restaurants close in Los Angeles
All four of Kevin Hart’s vegan fast-food restaurants closed overnight on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The movie actor and comedian's Hart House chain announced the immediate closures on Instagram.
“Thank you. To our team, guests, and community who helped make the change we all craved,” Hart House said in the post. “A Hartfelt goodbye for now as we start a new chapter.”
Hart, who adopted a diet of mostly plant-based foods, launched Hart House in 2022. The chain’s locations were in Hollywood, Westchester, Monrovia, and University Park.
Plant-based patties and kale salad
Hart House's menu included burgers with plant-based patties, a kale salad, french fries, tots, and "chicken" sandwiches and nuggets. Customers could also buy plant-based milkshakes.
"Our amazing chefs and amazing team members have crafted a 100% plant-based menu that delivers 'can't-believe-it' flavor in every bite," Hart wrote earlier on the restaurant's website.
There was “incredible” response to the chain’s food, Hart House CEO Andy Hooper said in a statement to Eater Los Angeles after the closures were announced.
Kevin Hart's latest roles
Hart stars as Gordon “Chicken Man” Williams in “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.” He is also one of the executive producers of the series, which is streaming on Peacock.
Additionally, Hart starred with Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, Edgar Ramirez and Florian Munteanu in this year's "Borderlands," a sci-fi movie inspired by the video game of the same name. Jack Black was the voice of the robotic sidekick Claptrap.
The Lionsgate Films production grossed approximately $15.5 million nationwide, Box Office Mojo reported.
