Khloe Kardashian Shares Cryptic Relationship Advice One Year After Tristan Thompson's Paternity Scandal
The queen of the cryptic posts strikes again.
Khloe Kardashian recently dished out some sound relationship advice on her Instagram Stories. On Dec. 3, the 38-year-old shared a quote that read, "Advice of the day: You can't make someone love you by giving them more of what they don't already appreciate."
While Khloe didn't elaborate on who inspired the message, the post comes almost exactly one year since it was revealed that her ex Tristan Thompson fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. According to court documents obtained by E! News, the model filed a paternity lawsuit claiming to have gotten pregnant following an alleged sexual encounter on the NBA star on his 30th birthday in March 2021. At the time, Tristin and Khloe were secretly engaged, E! News confirms.
Marlee welcomed son Theo Thompson in December 2021. One month later, Tristan was confirmed to be Theo's father and apologized to Khloe on social media for the "heartache and humiliation" he caused her.
A History of Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson's Relationship
The former couple—who started dating in 2016—have been the subject of multiple cheating scandals over the years. Just days before they welcomed their daughter True Thompson in April 2018, photos and videos emerged of Tristan allegedly kissing other women. While Khloe decided to give her man a second chance, the two broke up less than a year later amid claims that the athlete cheated on her with Kylie Jenner's then BFF Jordyn Woods.
Khloe and Tristan remained off-and-on through 2020 and 2021.
In July, E! News confirmed the pair welcomed their second child together—a baby boy whose name has not-yet been revealed. However, a source close to the Kardashians star clarified that their son "was conceived via surrogate before it was revealed to Khloe and the public that Tristan was having a baby with someone else in December." (The 31-year-old basketball player also shares son Prince, 5, with ex Jordan Craig.)
Despite the complicated timelines, Khloe took to Instagram that month to share how "thankful" she was for life's ups-and-downs by way of a cryptic quote, naturally.
"Be thankful for the difficult times," she shared in July. "During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations. Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
The Good American founder added, "GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings."
