Kid Cudi’s Broken Foot Is Full of Screws Following Surgery: ‘I’m a Cyborg Now’
Nearly three weeks ago, Kid Cudi broke his foot three when he jumped off the stage during his Coachella set, resulting in an injury that left him no choice but to cancel his forthcoming tour. The rapper has since shared a health update with his fans, proving that he really wasn’t being dramatic — the images he shared of his recent x-rays show that nearly a dozen screws were been placed in his foot during surgery.
“Got my boot! The road to recovery has begun,” Cudi wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Heres some xrays after the surgery, I wanted yall to see how real this shit was. Im a cyborg now ?? ???.” The musician had shared a brief update a few days earlier, letting fans know that his cast was being removed and replaced with a boot. In the replies, other people with foot injuries shared photos of their own boot-covered, elevated limbs, to which he responded: “I want a black one!!!”

Cudi hasn’t shared a complete timeline for his recovery but noted soon after Coachella that he had a broken heel bone. “I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time,” he said at the time. “We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought.”
The tour, announced in support of Cudi’s latest studio album, Insano, was scheduled to begin in July with special guest Pusha T. “We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do,” he wrote. “I’m so sorry fam and I love you so much, thanks for the endless love and support. I’m really disappointed as I’m sure you guys are too, but I will be back. That’s a promise.”
