And the internet thought it was, well, something.

Some were quick to make comparisons with other musicians.

I’m standing just below the Trump family box, and nobody is enjoying this Kid Rock performance more than JD Vance. Nobody seems to be enjoying it less than Melania Trump.

The word "cringe" was often used. As was other, stronger language.

So, unity is the message while Kid Rock (who looks like he's been fermenting in a mason jar since 2002) screams "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" into the mic while a screen of flames plays onstage behind him.

Why did Kid Rock perform at the RNC?
Michigan-born Kid Rock, whose actual name is Robert James Ritchie, made his name in the music industry with the release of his album “Devil Without a Cause” in 1998. He makes music that mixes hip hop, rap and country genres.
He’s leaned into conservative politics in recent years, aligning himself with former President Donald Trump’s causes. Recently, he donated $50,000 to an online fundraiser for “supporters and families wounded or killed” in the Saturday shooting at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.
