Kid Rock to Tucker Carlson in Fox News interview: 'You can't cancel me, I love it when they try'
Tucker Carlson vowed that nothing was off the table in his interview with Detroit rocker and conservative firebrand Kid Rock airing on Fox's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Monday.
"Why haven't you been canceled?" Carlson asks Kid Rock, 51, in an interview preview posted Saturday on Carlson's Twitter account.
"I am uncancellable," Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, responds while wearing a "We The People" hat. "Because I don’t give a (expletive)."
“I’m not in bed with any big corporate things. At the end of the day, there’s nobody I’m beholden to — no record companies, no corporate interests, no nothing. You can’t cancel me," Kid Rock said. "I love it when they try."

"I think I crawled out of the womb with both middle fingers in the air," Kid Rock said.
In another segment posted on Carlson's Instagram page, Kid Rock defends former President Donald Trump's speaking style. "Trump speaks off the cuff, I understand what that's like, sometimes you get it wrong," said Kid Rock, who appreciates Trump for not being "contrived" or "scripted" like other politicians. "I've stood next to him in the White House with the prepared notes and watched him read like one sentence and then it's like, 'Let's go.' You're like, this is awesome."
The interview Monday started like a typical chat with a musician. Kid Rock used the pandemic to concentrate on making the album and talked about his rigorous schedule. "People ask for my advice. ‘I work harder than you.’ That’s how it happened," he said.
But when Carlson asked for the message behind the album, called “Bad Reputation,” Kid Rock said, "To my fans, I love you dearly. To you critics, haters and trolls, go (expletive) yourself."
That album has the song "We the People," featuring the chanted chorus of "Let's Go Brandon," the slogan used in place of an obscene chant about President Joe Biden. When Kid Rock found the slogan on a car badge online, he bought it for his Rolls Royce. "I'm like, there is a heaven. This is too good," he said.
Carlson and Kid Rock remained friendly throughout the interview.
"I can already see their headlines on this interview," Kid Rock said. "It’s like, ‘Tucker and Kid Rock’s love story together.' "

TMZ featured photographs of Carlson and Kid Rock hanging out at Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk restaurant in Nashville after the interview, noting that "things got pretty chummy off-camera." Kid Rock took the microphone at one point and announced that Tucker was in the house, with the audience roaring back "USA" among other things.
In January, Kid Rock said he was hitting the road for what might be his last tour, but vowed not to perform at venues requiring the COVID-19 vaccination or face masks.
