Kim Kardashian and Kanye West celebrate their 5th anniversary with a sweet picture: A look back at their love story
If at first you don’t succeed at marriage, then try marrying Kanye West.
That seems to have been the right move for Kim Kardashian, who said “I do” to the rapper at Forte di Belvedere — a fancy castle — in Florence, Italy, on May 24, 2014. The couple collectively known as Kimye was serenaded by Andrea Bocelli, kissed each other in front a grand flower wall — and grumbled over Beyoncé and Jay-Z being no-shows at the multimillion-dollar affair.
Five years later, the couple is still going strong. Kim posted a heartwarming tribute on Instagram to mark their anniversary.
A photo The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, posted from the wedding broke a record for the most-liked Instagram photo ever.
The reality star recently shared a pre-anniversary message (while also promoting a bridal-themed makeup collection — natch!), writing that after “five years and 4 kids,” their life “couldn’t be better!”
They certainly have had a good month. Two weeks ago, they welcomed their fourth child, a boy, via surrogate. Psalm West joins older siblings North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 1.
In honor of the couple’s anniversary, we look at their love story — which began long before they got together in 2012. They actually met a decade earlier, and West has said that despite being involved in other relationships, she was always his dream girl. Once she reached a divorce settlement with hubby number two, Kris Humphries, in 2013, she was free to marry Ye, who popped the question, in elaborate display, in a rented out baseball stadium.
But make no mistake — it hasn’t been an easy five years for the couple. He had a breakdown. She was robbed at gunpoint. There was marital strife. Luckily, their millions have cushioned the blows — and any drama keeps Keeping Up With the Kardashian pumping.
Cheers to love, marriage and drama.
