Kim Kardashian is in Paris for the first time since her robbery — with security and Kanye West (updated)
Kim Kardashian returned to Paris for the first time since her horrifying robbery. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star touched down in the City of Light on Thursday with husband Kanye West for the Louis Vuitton menswear spring-summer 2019 show as part of Paris Fashion Week.
As expected, the Wests were flanked by security for Thursday’s event. But if Kim was nervous, she didn’t show it — and she certainly didn’t try to hide. She rocked a mini and a bright blue shirtdress and happily posed for photos with her husband. Kimye sat front row, next to Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott.
Judging from Kardashian’s Instagram Stories, she is happy to be back in Paris. She shared a photo of the Eiffel Tower as well as a pic of a basket of croissants, writing, “Bonjour.” The reality star’s social media habits drastically changed in the wake of the robbery, which occurred during Paris Fashion Week. She never posts in real time and there aren’t as many flashy posts. We repeat: as many flashy posts. Kardashian shared off some bling on her Instagram Stories.
In October 2016, Kardashian was bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint by masked burglars who stole about $10 million worth of jewelry. On an episode of her E! reality show last year, Kardashian discussed going back to Paris in maybe “five, six, seven, 10 years.”
“I don’t want to go any time soon,” she said on KUWTK. “North has pajamas with the Eiffel Tower … and she goes, ‘Mommy, you like to go to Paris, right?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ She was like, ‘Are you going to take me?’ And I was like, ‘You’ve been there before, and we’ll go one day.’ It would be so hard, but I will do it for her.”
While it’s unclear if any of her and West’s three children — North, 5; Saint, 2; and Chicago, 5 months — are with them, she likely made the trip for her husband.
The “Yikes” rapper is longtime friends with Virgil Abloh, the newly appointed artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear collections. Thursday marked Abloh’s debut collection for the French fashion house, and he and West were captured sharing an emotional moment at the end of the show.

Abloh is the first African-American artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear division. He and West — both from Chicago — have been close for years, even interning at Fendi together in 2009. West appointed Abloh as the creative director of his creative agency, Donda.
Kardashian put her arm around her crying husband after their embrace.
