Kim Kardashian Says She'll 'Never Try to Change' Kanye West After His Pro-Trump Speech at SNL

Kim Kardashian West will always have her husband’s back.

Sunday’s episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians took fans behind-the-scenes of Kanye West‘s surprise pro-Donald Trump rant while appearing as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live in September — as well as his sudden announcement that the family was moving to Chicago.

For starters, Kim, 38, admitted that she was “a little bit annoyed” that she found out about the move on social media. And while she certainly wasn’t ready to uproot their family, West, 41, seemed set on the idea.

“We moving to Chicago,” he told her. “That’s the vibe, babe. It feels good.”

“I get that Kanye is really excited about Chicago,” Kim said. “He just needs a change of scene. I totally respect that, but I can’t really imagine moving to Chicago. I think I’m going to kind of ride it out and see it through, because with him I just always want to make sure that this is what he wants to do. Then we make a real, informed decision.”

And with West rehearsing for SNL, Kim was even more on edge: “I have to be honest — inside I’m kind of freaking out a little bit because live TV, you never know what could happen,” she said.

And while West’s impromptu political speech was met with fierce backlash, the family appeared supportive as ever, with Scott Disick acknowledging that the show was “a little different,” but “overall exciting.”

“Mason and I were cheering — like, [we] went crazy,” Kourtney Kardashian said in the car on the way home from the show.

“Yeah, I was too,” Kim said.

“I know that Kanye is always going to be Kanye and I’m never trying to change that,” she added. “I mean, that’s who I fell in love with and I’m not trying to change who is.”

Back in Los Angeles at a family dinner without West, Kim told Kris Jenner that the kids had “so much fun” at SNL and that daughter North West, 5, was “dancing up a storm.”

“North, you can host next time,” Kris said.

“I don’t know if they’ll invite us back ever,” Kim replied with a laugh.

“Did he do a rant at the end?” Kris asked.

“At the end, yes, but the credits were rolling,” Kim said. “I can’t control it.”

Kris, 63, advised her daughter to give West “a little more attention” in order to “keep him calm.”

“I have a million kids. I have a million jobs,” Kim said, sounding exasperated. “This is all I’ve got.”

“I think he just is expecting a lot more than you’re giving,” Kris said.

“I don’t have any much more to give,” Kim said.

At this point, Kim had come to the decision that she and the kids would definitely not be moving to Chicago — and she had to break the news to West.

“I’m really happy that Chicago is such a good place for Kanye. It’s where he grew up, he has so many different memories there, there’s a lot that he wants to do there,” she said. “But I definitely feel I’m being pulled in a million directions. The kids are in school and we have another baby on the way, so moving to Chicago would have to be a long conversation. And honestly, it might be my breaking point.”

Sitting down with her husband, Kim gently pointed out that a permanent move would just be too hectic given the fact that the kids were in school.

“I don’t want to uproot them from all of their friends and their routine and their cousins and everything,” she said. “I just think that it would be amazing to have a second place in Chicago and if you need to spend more time out there that’s totally fine, but I think it would be really hard just to take the kids and leave and permanently move to Chicago.”

“When I went to Chicago, I felt like I was home,” West said. “There were a lot of things that I missed not being there for a long, long, long time. I feel connected, I feel inspired when we’re there.”

“So what do you want to do? Do you want to live in Chicago and I’ll live here and we’ll FaceTime?” Kim asked. “I mean, I’m willing to split it, I’m just saying during the school year, it’s going to be really hard.”

Eventually, West agreed. “We’re not going to move full-time,” he said. “But we will spend time [there], because that’s my home, too.”

Kim wasn’t the only one experiencing relationship drama: Kourtney, 39, was trying to decide whether to invite her ex Disick on the family’s trip to Bali. But after their trip with the kids to New York City for West’s performance went by drama-free, she agreed to extend the invite.

“To be honest, I was worried about Scott in New York which is usually very distracting to him,” she said. “But it’s really nice to see Scott in full dad-mode, all hanging out together as a family.”

But that didn’t mean that she didn’t have her reservations about it.

“I’m really happy that … Scott is really focused on the kids, but it does make me nervous to think about the dynamic of our relationship changing again,” she admitted. “The fact that we’re hanging out — when I was in a relationship I wouldn’t even think twice about it. But I think just because I’m somewhat newly single, it’s just a weird feeling.”

One person who sadly wouldn’t be making the trip? Kris, who decided at the last minute to stay home and take care of her mother MJ, who had been diagnosed with a serious case of pneumonia.

“There’s a lot going on and I’ve been really stressed out because of my mom,” she said. “I just feel something tugging at my heart not to go on the trip. Something is just pulling me to stay here with MJ. I would be taking off feeling like I was making the worst decision.”

“I could never leave her now. And because of that, I’ve decided not to go to Bali with my family and stay home and spend time with MJ and be here in case she needs me,” she continued. “I just want to make sure she’s okay.”
