Kim Kardashian slammed for appearing darker for Elizabeth Taylor-themed shoot: 'More like Diahann Carroll or Beyoncé'
Kim Kardashian's transformation into Elizabeth Taylor for 7Hollywood magazine isn't going over well on social media. On Thursday, the SKIMS entrepreneur showed off her recent cover shoot for the magazine in which she channels the late Hollywood icon in a sparkling Thierry Mugler gown. The only problem? The consensus seems to be she looks a whole lot more like a different legendary actress — Diahann Carroll.
After sharing her new cover, Kardashian, 39, was almost immediately called out for her skin appearing much darker in the photos.
"Elizabeth Taylor?! Try again. More like Diahann Carroll or Beyonce! The Kar-trashians blackface/blackbody shenanigans continue," one person declared. Many others agreed.

She'll say the look is an homage to Elizabeth Taylor or Marilyn Monroe, but she looks like Dorothy Dandridge or Diahann Carroll too.

Kanye West's wife has yet to address the backlash; however, she previously blamed her tanner when faced with similar criticism. In 2017, Kardashian was called out for blackface after releasing a promotional photo of herself for KKW Beauty with a much darker skin tone.
"I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off," Kardashian told the New York Times after outrage ensued on social media. "But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it."
She continued, "Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it."
