King Charles has been receiving weekly cancer treatments since his February diagnosis, but he'll reportedly be taking a break from his regimen later this month.

According to the Daily Mail, the 75-year-old monarch has permission from his doctors to "pause" his treatments so he can fly to Australia and Samoa for an official visit. The trip is set to begin on Oct. 18 with stops in Sydney and Canberra, after which the royal will head to Samoa in the South Pacific where he'll attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

While traveling, Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, will be sticking to a very busy schedule including up to 10 engagements per day with just one day of "rest." However, sources say that the King's itinerary was organized with the input of his doctors and will "prioritize" his health and recovery.

A doctor will also be part of his traveling entourage (though this is always the case for the head of state, cancer or not).

The trip will be significant not just because of how it's affecting Charles' treatment, but because it will be his first visit to a Realm of which he is head of state since becoming King, as well as his first CHOGM as Head of the Commonwealth.

Charles will restart his treatments when he returns home.

The King appeared to be feeling well last week when he hosted a reception at St. James' Palace to celebrate the Commonwealth Diaspora in advance of the CHOGM, even participating in a traditional Siva Samoa dance. He returned to Scotland immediately after to prepare for his trip.
