King Charles Spotted Sharing Rare Sweet Moment With His Stepson
King Charles appeared to be in great spirits on Day Three of the Royal Ascot this week, where he was spotted having a sweet moment with one of his stepchildren.
During Ladies Day at the races on Thursday, June 20, the King was photographed sharing an embrace with stepson Tom Barker Bowles, the firstborn son of Charles' wife, Queen Camilla.
In the rare photo of Charles and Tom, the 75-year-old monarch could be seen leaning over for kisses on both cheeks from Tom, 49, as the pair warmly greeted each other.
Charles was dressed in a dapper outfit for Thursday's festivities, donning a simple gray suit with a baby blue tie.
For his part, Tom opted for a black morning suit, complementing the formal look with a pastel blue waistcoat and a blue and white polka-dotted tie. He even added a black top hat to match his coat, though he, of course, removed the headpiece while greeting the King.
Tom, a food writer and critic, is Camilla's oldest child with her first husband, Andrew Parker Bowles. The former pair also share 46-year-old daughter Laura Lopes.
Camilla was married to Andrew for over 20 years before they divorced in 1995. She went on to marry Charles in 2005, after carrying out a decades-long romance and several affairs with the then-prince, whom she first dated in the early '70s.
Since marrying into the royal family, Camilla, 76, is now a stepmother to Charles' two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, whom the monarch shared with the late Princess Diana.
