Kirsten Dunst trips and nearly crashes into Oscars 2024 statue on red carpet: ‘Oh s – – t!’
Dunst was almost dunzo!
Kirsten Dunst tripped and nearly fell on the red carpet during the 2024 Oscars while attempting to pose for a picture with her husband, Jesse Plemons, on Sunday.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the “Spider-Man” actress can be seen posing for various photographs before nearly crashing into a large Oscar statuette.
“Oh s – – t,” the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” star is then heard saying in the video. “I walked right into an Oscar.”
Thankfully, Dunst managed to laugh off the moment before turning and whispering something into Plemons’ ear.
Several social media users went wild with the hilarious moment.
“She was serving too hard and needed to be stopped,” one person stated on X.
“It’s Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons. They’ll both be nominated for this incident at the 2025 Oscars,” stated a second person.
“Why is everyone bumping or falling down already. The ceremony barely even started,” a third person joked.
Dunst’s ditzy move is not the first one of the night. Earlier, media personality Liza Koshy, 27, took a tumble on the carpet.
The former YouTuber — who wore a red off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown and massive platform heels — also managed to laugh off the incident.
Moments after the fall, several photographers were heard exclaiming their shock.
“That’s alright,” the “Players” actress said as several assistants rushed forward to help the 27-year-old up off the ground.
“It was a manhole,” she joked. “You saw that? Oh my god.”
Later on, Koshy asked if red carpet correspondent Amelia Dimoldenberg had watched her “eat it.”
“I’m joining a legendary group of women like J. Law who fell on the carpet,” Koshy laughed, referring to the “Hunger Games” actress’ infamous tumble at the 2014 Oscars.
“I made a whole moment of it. I said, ‘Wait a minute. I’m not nominated. I’m not presenting. I gotta fall,'” added Koshy, saying that the carpet smelled like Dimoldenberg’s feet.
The moment also sparked several comments on X, where fans praised her for handling “it with grace.”
“I hope she’s okay! Tripping can happen to anyone, but I’m sure she handled it with grace,” another said.
“Hope she’s ok!” a second added.
“Still a queen,” a third person remarked.
“The way everyone gasped,” a fourth chuckled.
