Relationship Timeline
In October of 2017, a source told People the two were officially in a relationship and had been dating for months. It's said that Stone and McCary first met when she hosted SNL and starred in his sketch "Wells for Boys" the year prior.
Aside from a few photos of the couple floating around Hollywood from 2017 to 2019, there isn't a lot of information about their relationship. However, in 2018 Stone reportedly hosted a roller skating party that McCary attended. According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, the two were cozy.
"They stood right next to the stage in their skates for all of Haim’s set, dancing together and singing along,” the source said. “At one point, they slow-danced to a somewhat upbeat song. He initiated it and she excitedly followed. They held hands [with] his other hand around her waist and hers around his shoulders.”
In 2019 the couple made several public appearances including at the Golden Globes after-party at the Beverly Hilton hotel, a night at a Los Angeles Clippers game, and seated next to one another at the Oscars that year.
In 2019 Stone was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger sparking rumors the two got engaged. However, it wasn't until a source confirmed to People that McCary and Stone had secretly gotten married earlier in the year. Their engagement was confirmed when McCary shared a photo of Stone and himself showing off a beautiful pearl and diamond ring atop her finger.

Aside from his award-winning writing at SNL, he also directed a comedy drama known as Brigsby Bear that was produced by The Lonely Island, a production company founded by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone.
