Kourtney Kardashian Says Rocky’s Fetal Surgery Was Due to ‘Fluid in His Lungs’: ‘Lucky That We Caught It’
The Lemme co-founder opened up about her baby son's surgery on this week's episode of 'The Kardashians'
Kourtney Kardashian Barker is opening up about the "terrifying" fetal surgery she underwent last summer.
On this week's episode of The Kardashians, the Lemme co-founder, 45, shared more about the emergency fetal surgery she went through before welcoming baby son Rocky Thirteen with husband Travis Barker, 48. As she gets ready to give birth to her son during the episode, Kardashian Barker looks back at the scary moment.
"A couple months ago, we had a terrifying scare where I had to have emergency fetal surgery," Kardashian Barker explains in a confessional.
The scene then switches to the mom of three as she recovers from her fetal surgery. "Baby Rocky had to have fetal surgery for fluid in his lung," she explains.

"And it's super rare, that this [is] the condition that he had but it's also super rare and lucky that we caught it. And thank you, God, for this successful surgery. I'm honestly just so grateful, I have no words."
Back in a confessional, Kardashian Barker notes that she was terrified after undergoing the medical procedure.
"I was definitely filled with fear after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs. Actually it did start coming back and then I watched this documentary called Heal that was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health," she says.
"And then I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers, and after I had that mindset shift, the fluid was completely gone and we had not one single problem after."
During last week's episode, Kardashian Barker showed off her scar from her fetal surgery as she posed for her maternity shoot.
“I have a scar from my surgery where they went into my amniotic sac so I'm like a fragile little egg," she explained.
Eventually, Kardashian Barker "makes it work" and gets as many pictures as she can before she ultimately decides against modeling a third look. When Kardashian Barker sat down, she said she could feel some tightness.
“[It was] about an hour and a half and we did two looks. And then, you know, we talked about doing three and I just said, ‘Let me see how my body's feeling,' " Kardashian Barker explained in a confessional.
"And once I laid down, I just felt like, that's it. I'm gonna listen to my body. There's no reason to push this. Obviously, my health and the baby's health come first.’”
New episodes of The Kardashians drop every Thursday at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu.
