Kristen Wiig and Jane Fonda Take On Role of Hannibal Lecter

Watch and enjoy, perhaps with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Last month, W magazine enabled the Internet to see Bradley Cooper, Seth Rogen, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano performing Cher Horowitz’s famous “It does not say R.S.V.P. on the Statue of Liberty” speech from Clueless. Today the magazine provides the Internet with another opportunity: the chance to watch several female stars deliver their take on a role from another, very different ‘90s classic: Hannibal Lecter from 1991′s The Silence of the Lambs.

Kristen Wiig, Jane Fonda, Mya Taylor, Greta Gerwig, and Carey Mulligan each do a piece of Lecter’s sinister monologue/takedown of Agent Clarice Starling, the one that ends with “all the way to the F-B-I” Of the five, Wiig and Fonda are probably the most menacing; Wiig, in particular, manages to make the question “Did he stink of the lamp?” sound kind of funny (because she’s Kristen Wiig) but also deeply disturbing at the same time.
