Kristen Wiig Reinvents Dressing-Like-the-Actual-Award at the Emmys 2024 in Metallic Gold Basket Weave

Rocking her very best fob (fake bob), Kristen Wiig appeared at the Emmys 2024 looking like a human version of an awards show statuette—and I mean that in the best way.

The actor wore a strapless Oscar de la Renta ballgown in a fascinating gold metallic basket weave fabric. The crisscrossing material was further embellished by crystal beads, while the pointed, scalloped edges at the hem and neckline added a hint of, well, edge.

Wiig styled the gown with the aforementioned bob, a simple diamond necklace, studded earrings, and a long almond manicure.

Kristen Wiig was nominated at the Emmys 2024 for her Apple TV+ series, Palm Royale, both for outstanding lead actress and as an executive producer of the show. Wiig’s costumes on the show, which took place in the fictional elite social circle of 1960s Florida, were almost as glamorous as this red carpet showstopper.

She was also nominated for an Emmy for her turn hosting Saturday Night Live on April 6. Not only is Wiig an alum of the iconic variety series, it was her fifth time hosting, so it’s hardly a surprise that she knocked it out of the park.
